On Wednesday, Dec 1 2021, ACNS launched its first ever Red Scarf Project - a public awareness effort for World AIDS Day.
Thank you to the almost 80 volunteer knitters/crocheters who generously donated their time, skill and yarn to make scarves for us - we received over 150 beauties!
ACNS will definitely be doing this again in 2022 – so anyone who wants to can start their red scarf now!
On Dec 1, ACNS staff and volunteers tied those hand-made red scarves to the fence surrounding Halifax's iconic Public Gardens with cards attached marking the day, and including updated HIV awareness and U=U messages from our ongoing "HIV is Different" campaign.
Sue Uteck, Executive Director of the Spring Garden Road Area Business Association, joined ACNS ED Chris Aucoin in tying a red scarf to the Public Garden's main gate.
